Chefs For Australian Bushfire Relief

Bid for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with your food hero and support fire-affected communities.

Australia is burning. Since late last year, Australia has been ravaged by awful bushfires that have taken lives, animals and entire communities. These are some of the worst bushfires in history and they continue to burn across the continent.

The Local Tongue has teamed up with some of the world’s top chefs to raise funds and support fire-affected communities across Australia.

We are auctioning five once-in-a-lifetime experiences to spend the day with one of our chef contributors and visit some of the restaurants and venues in their The Local Tongue guide.

You and a friend could spend the day eating street food in Bangkok with Gaggan Anand; dine with Julien Royer of Singapore’s Odette, the World’s 50 Best Restaurant in Asia; discover Bali’s sweet side with Will Goldfarb of pastry bar Room 4 Dessert; experience Milan’s hottest restaurants with Diego Rossi of Trippa; or eat your way through Sydney’s Chinatown with Dan Hong of Mr Wong.

Bids are open now and 100 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

To bid, email with your bid amount (in AUD), including the name of the chef you are bidding to spend the day with in the subject heading. At the end of the auction, The Local Tongue will contact the highest bidder for each of the chefs to arrange each tour.

The prize includes all food costs within the destination city (travel to the destination city is not included) and winners will have 12 months to claim their prize.

The auction closes 23:59 Monday January 20th 2020 AEST (GMT+10).
