The Local Tongue is looking for a creative, organised and ambitious social media coordinator. The ideal candidate will have strong storytelling skills, an eye for good design and content scheduling experience. Above all else, the right candidate has a desire to grow The Local Tongue’s social media presence and discover new ways to connect with our community. A love of restaurants is also vital to this job.
Working within our editorial team, the social media coordinator will oversee the social media calendar and be responsible for the successful execution of the social media strategy.
What you’ll do:
- Run and manage our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter account.
- Plan and schedule daily social media content.
- Package and translate our content to feel native to the platforms on which it is published without sacrificing editorial voice.
- Community management across multiple platforms.
- Measure and report on social media content on a quarterly basis.
- Use a graphic design platform such as Canva to create social media graphics.
- Ensure growth KPIs are met across social platforms and within our communities consistently.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and platforms to enhance results.
What you’ll bring:
- A passion for all things social media.
- Prior experience growing an audience on social media.
- Prior experience planning and scheduling social media content.
- Strong writing and editing skills, and impeccable attention to detail.
- A keen eye for design and aesthetics.
- Strong time management skills.
- Creativity and a passion for new storytelling formats.
- Strong understanding of social media trends across platforms.
- Excitement to work at a start-up and an eagerness to bring fresh thinking to the table.
