My Daily Bread

The bread manufactory Das Brot in the Autostadt is my favorite bakery in Wolfsburg. I really like to have a great breakfast at home with my family and at this bakery you can get everything you need for this, from naturally fermented sourdough to crusty bread baked in a stone oven. During the summer months, my family and I also enjoy having breakfast here. While the children watch the bakers working behind the glass wall, I enjoy a tasty stulle (bread and butter) with freshly made seasonal spreads and a coffee. The kids can also choose from sweet or savoury breakfasts, or try a classic slice of buttered bread. They have a large selection of cold cuts and you can have your sandwich made to order. The selection ranges from Swiss bürli (small bread) and Swabian caraway bread to croissants and whole grain and spelt rolls. Everything is very healthy, tasty and handmade.

TIP: If you want to have a great family day at the huge theme park Autostadt, the bakery Das Brot is the perfect starting point. Even if you don’t have children you can experience a lot there. No one should miss Autostadt while staying in Wolfsburg.

Greek Nostalgia

I worked two summer seasons in Crete and Greece and not only appreciated the country and its inhabitants, but also the Cretan and Greek cuisine. There’s not a lot of Greek and Cretan cuisine in Germany, but a growing number of restaurants are opening and serving food that comes very close to the originals. Luckily we have one here in Wolfsburg called Taverne Oniro that offers very delicious mezedes which are small, exquisite delicacies. The idea is quite similar to Spanish Tapas: you combine different mezedes according to your mood and taste. You put all the plates in the middle to share with your friends or family and enjoy the very fresh, healthy and original Greek food.

Innovative Asian

The restaurant’s name explains its philosophy: Creativity + Asian = Creasian. At Creasian you can enjoy a lot of different amazing Asian specialties in a very creative and modern way. The ambience is a unique fusion between industrial and urban Asian interior design that is paired with innovative food and drinks from the far east. The service is very kind and attentive. As well as the great food, the restaurant also has very tasty cocktails.
