An Introduction To Athens Night Life
Athens is full of hidden gems that are waiting to be discovered. One of them is Seven Jokers. It serves nice drinks and is always packed. Rock n Roll Athens is an old-time classic in the fancy Kolonaki neighbourhood. The bar reopened after being closed for a long time and is as good as it ever was. There’s just one problem: people still smoke inside bars in Athens, which can get to you after a while.
My Favourite Bartender And Where To Find Him
I don’t have a favourite bar, but I do have a favourite bartender. His name is Yannis Petris and is a very talented bartender. He’s like a bar whisperer. He created drink lists for Funky Gourmet and for Opso in London. My favourite bars are the ones he’s working with. Right now, you’ll find him at Tiki Bar. It’s one of our favourite places to go for after-service drinks with the team. It’s got tropical vibes and is near the Acropolis. You can enjoy cocktails made using fresh fruits and organic products.
The Japanese Connection
I love going to Sushimou. It’s a small, minimally designed sushi bar that seats 12, so a reservation is vital. It’s the best sushi you’ll find in Athens prepared by our good friend Antonis and served in a Japanese-inspired environment. Birdman is a contemporary Japanese pub in the heart of Athens. It serves drinks that perfectly match it izakaya-inspired menu prepared with high-end Greek ingredients.
A Classic Fish Restaurant
I’ve been going to Milos in the Hilton Athens for years. It’s a classic fish restaurant with fresh fish and excellent produce. The service is nice and the restaurant has managed to maintain its quality throughout the years.
Traditional Greek Feasting
I go to Vezene to relax and socialise. It’s a modern, artistic bistro with a Mediterranean-inspired menu. The flavours are traditional but have a layer of twist to them. The dishes are designed to share and feast on, while enjoying a friendly service and cosy atmosphere.
